Nahid Afroz, the BCS Administrator
After e-CAB, an administrator has now been appointed to the Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS). Nahid Afroz, the Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, has been appointed as the new administrator. She is currently serving in the Export-1 Sub-division of the Export Division under the Ministry.
This office order for the appointment of an administrator was issued on Wednesday by the Trade Organization Division. According to the order signed by Dr. Nazneen Kauser Chowdhury, the Director General of the department, the administrator has been instructed to form the next Executive Committee through a fair and impartial election within 120 days of assuming her duties, in accordance with trade regulations.
According to BCS sources, after all members of the Executive Committee (EC) resigned, a request was made to the Director of Trade Organizations (DTO) to appoint Zahirul Islam, the Managing Director of Smart Technologies Limited, as the head of an interim committee, but the request was not approved. Subsequently, a new administrator has been appointed.
As a result, Nahid Afroz may assume her new office today or on Thursday.
